Frequently asked questions

Can I keep my current number?

Yes. The eSIM is added next to your own SIM, so your number stays on your phone and you can still get calls and SMS on it (your operator's roaming prices apply to those). The Gigify eSIM is used for mobile data.

Can I make calls with this eSIM?

It's data only: it has no phone number for regular calls or SMS. Apps that work over the internet, such as WhatsApp or Telegram, work as usual.

Does my phone support eSIM?

When should I install it?

Install before you travel, while you have Wi-Fi. The eSIM's days only start counting when it first connects abroad.

How do I know if it's set up right?

Check that the eSIM is on, Data Roaming is on, and mobile data uses this line.

Data not working?

Data Roaming is off. Travel eSIMs always count as roaming, even with a local network. Turn Data Roaming on for the travel eSIM line.

Can't scan?

Choose "Enter code manually" and paste the full activation string from your eSIM page (it starts with LPA:1$).

Which mobile networks will I use?

FL1 (5G), 7acht (4G). The networks can differ by package: each package shows its own.

When do the days start counting?

When your phone first connects to a mobile network at your destination, not when you buy or install the eSIM. So you can install it before your trip.
